Beer, Chips and Cricket

This is a site about drinking beer, eating chips and thinking cricket. I am not a former player, a television commentaror or a journalist; my qualification to being worthy of hearing is that I drink a lot of beer, eat a lot of chips and think a lot about cricket. The thoughts need not be politically correct and often include colourful language but there will be no deliberate bias towards any player, community or state. I don't care about popular opinion or perceptions and I speak it as I see it.

Were the selectors looking at Zaheer as an all-rounder ?!! I think Zaheer got punished for taking Gangs wickets during the Duleep trophy :-)

ROFLOL! This is going to be fun.

Also, why a 15 member team for a home test? Never before heard of. Australia names a 12 and lets the others go play for their state and here we name 15 for one test! This is real fun.

And imagine if Ganguly gets dropped because we wanted to play 5 bowlers? ROFLOL! Clearly he does not select himself as a batsman - Sehwag, Gambhir, RD, SRT, VVSL, Dhoni select themselves and the reamining 5 places is where the batting-bowling-alrounder has to fight for.

What a mighty fall for the Prince of Culcutta!

There are few questions you need to answer after you are done LMAOing.
    1. Are we going to play 3 seamers in the tests at home?
    2. If we play both Bhajji and Kumble wouldnt be need a third seamer in case we are made to bowl on 1st day morning? Now if we cant have 5 bowlers and neither can have 3 seamers what should we do?
Shouldnt we look for someone who can bowl few overs of seam?
    3. How many guys on the bench we have who can do this job? JP? SG? I cant think of anyone else.
    4. Havent SG picked up wickets in every first class game he has played this season.
    5. If he can do this job we wouldnt be forced to ask our spinners to bowl with new ball on fresh wicket.
And i agree with VShan we shouldnt be picking 15 players for 'one test'. Specially when our domestic season is in full flow. Guys like Kaif and Yuvi are better served playing first class games instead of warming benchs.

maybe the team might be something like

    viru
    GG
    VVS
    SRT
    RD
    sourav
    MSD
    Irfan
    aggu/RP ?
    bhajji
    Kumble

theyll prolly use ganguly as the third *seamer* option i assume and irfans in good batting form as well.

by the way does anyone remember how well kumble was batting in the series against the aussies, i thought he put the top order to sham hopefully hes in the same vein of form :D

vshan, do you really don't know the spelling of 'Calcutta'? Asking because the keys for 'A' and 'U' on the keyboard are miles apart. So it can't be a typo. May be instead of laughing your ass out, you should learn how to spell.

    To Anon

Maybe you need to think a little harder that the spelling error could be deliberate too.

The term was coined by Boycott and he does pronounce Calcutta (or Kolkata) differently.

Admirers and fans of Ganguly seem to have the knack of spotting irrelevant mistakes in others. ;-)
